REPUBLIC'S F-l05 THUNDERCHIEF fighter-bomber - "world's most powerful one-man airplane" - streaks straight up at supersonic speed. It is designed to carry nuclear and thermonuclear as well as conventional weapons over long range with the aid of in-flight refueling. The Mach 2 Thunderchief is in service with commands of the U.S. Air Force. It is powered by a 26,500·lb. thrust (with water injection) turboiet engine.
