P-47 THUNDERBOLT
The famed "Jug" of World War II, was credited with destroying 3,752 enemy aircraft while suffering 824 losses. Armed with four .50 caliber guns in each wing, the P-47 had a top speed of 448 mph. 15,300 were produced by the Republic Aviation Corp., now a division of Fairchild Hiller.
